Among Cochran's extensive work on behalf of the military were recent appearances at schools on behalf of "America's Huey 091 Education Foundation" which focuses on teaching students about history and citizenship. Speaking to students, Cochran stressed that our freedoms are precious and should never be taken for granted. He also spoke about the loss of his friend and fellow Marine, Corporal Ron Payne, during combat in Afghanistan. Recently, Bob played an acoustic set for the troops returning from Iraq at the Forever Free Freedom Fest in Mckinney,Texas. Other performers included Nashville recording artists Stephen Cochran and Matt Snook.
