When Cody Becker, from Kenosha, Wisconsin, reported to Fort Carson in
January 2008, he expected to be trained and then deployed to participate in
an overseas operation. He had no way to know how his life would be changed
over the next several months.
On March 3, 2008, Pvt. Cody Becker was participating in training operations
at Fort Carson. The vehicle he was riding in rolled over crushing his spine
resulting in paralyzing him from his chest down, but still having full
movement of his arms.
During a presentation on September 19th, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. on the north side
of the Medal of Honor Park in front of the Pueblo Convention Center, Pvt.
Becker will be presented an iBOT Mobility System (www.ibotnow.com) that will significantly improve his mobility. The iBOT
provides unique maneuverability through its multi-mode system, unlike any
wheelchair. It provides (1) standard wheelchair functions, (2) 4-wheel
Function for uneven terrain, (3) Balance function for increased reach and
interaction at eye-to-eye, and (4) Stair Function to go up or down stairs.
This is the first such presentation of an iBOT in Colorado by the America's
